The Lower Saxony Archaeological Working Group (ArchAN) is an association of archaeological groups and working groups in Lower Saxony founded in 2007 . ArchAN currently (2014) has around 30 associations and groups as members. The working group is affiliated with the archeology department in the Lower Saxony Heimatbund .
The Lower Saxony Archaeological Working Group promotes cooperation and networking of voluntary archaeological work. It is, so to speak, an interest group for the “amateur archaeologists”. The working group supports archaeological groups and working groups in Lower Saxony and neighboring federal states. He also supports the voluntary representatives of the archaeological monument preservation in Lower Saxony. The goals of the working group include the exchange of experiences, nationwide bundling of archaeological interest groups, the implementation of regular meetings, projects (such as advanced training, specialist conferences) and political influence via the Lower Saxony Heimatbund.
management
The leadership of the working group consists of a five-person spokesman's council elected for three years, which conceptually develops the activities of ArchAN. The last speaker council was elected for three years on September 20, 2014 at the 12th general meeting in Marienmünster . It has not been known since 2017 who is on the spokesperson's council.
Associated groups
In addition to around 15 honorary officers for monument preservation, around 30 associations and groups, mainly from Lower Saxony, are currently (2014) members of the Lower Saxony Archaeological Working Group.
