The 30th Lower Saxony Tour took place from April 19 to 23, 2006. The bike race was held in five stages over a distance of 899 kilometers. This year the tour did not go through the Harz , so all stages were decided in the sprint. For the first time in the history of the Lower Saxony Tour, a driver, Alessandro Petacchi , won all five stages.
