Nierembergia graveolens a plant is art from the genus of white mug ( Nierembergia ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Nierembergia graveolens is an upright plant that reaches heights of about 37 cm. The base is heavily lignified. The leaves are about 15 mm long and 2 to 4 (rarely up to 5) mm wide. They are densely hairy, inverted ovate and very pointed towards the front.

The flowers are on 0 to 1 mm long pedicels . The calyx is 10.5 to 14 mm long and has pointed, 4 mm long and 3 mm wide lobes. The crown has an approximately 20 mm wide coronet and an approximately 23 mm long coronet tube. The stamens are divided into three short and 2 long ones. The pollen grains are simple. The stylus is curved and broadened at the tip. The scar is wide but not crescent-shaped.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence

The species grows in open locations on clay soil. It occurs in the northeast of Argentina in the provinces of Corrientes and Entre Ríos , as well as in Brazil and Uruguay .

The species was first described in 1825 by Auguste François César Prouvençal de Saint-Hilaire .
