Nik Niethammer

Nik Niethammer (born February 8, 1962 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss journalist .

Career

Niethammer obtained his commercial diploma in St. Gallen in 1981 . In the following years he worked in the business editorial department of the Tages-Anzeiger in Zurich, as well as for the Swiss television DRS , as a reporter for the Schweizer Illustrierte and as a video journalist in the newsroom of the television station TeleZüri , the first private local television in Switzerland.

TeleZüri appointed Niethammer in 1995 as editor-in-chief , program manager and member of the management. In 1998 he became program manager and a member of the management team of Tele24 , the first nationwide private television broadcaster in Switzerland. In 1999 he moved to the Swiss tabloid Blick as a member of the editor-in-chief . In July 2004 he switched to Sat.1 as division manager for magazines . He was appointed editor-in-chief of Sat.1 on October 4, 2007. He headed the information and magazine division . Member of the Board of Directorsfrom Sat.1 (Switzerland) he became in December 2007. On December 12, 2007 Sat.1 announced that Niethammer would leave the station at the end of the year as part of the restructuring of the management of Sat.1. On October 3, 2008, the Swiss publishing house Ringier announced that Niethammer would take over as editor-in-chief of Schweizer Illustrierte from December 1, 2008. In his function he succeeded Dominic Geisseler. Niethammer worked as a reporter for the Swiss People magazine from 1988 to 1994. At the end of August 2011, Ringier parted ways with Niethammer as editor-in-chief of Schweizer Illustrierte due to different ideas about the further direction and concept of the magazine. In March 2013 Niethammer took over the editor-in-chief of Radio 1 in Zurich. He left the station at the end of November 2013. Since December 1, 2014, he has been editor-in-chief of the Swiss parenting magazine Fritz + Fränzi.

Niethammer is married to the German journalist and TV presenter Tamina Kallert , with her he has two children.
