Niklas Eriksson (born February 17, 1969 in Västervik ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played mainly for Leksands IF in the Elitserien from 1987 to 2007 and ended his career at HC Pustertal in Serie A1.

Career

Niklas Eriksson began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Leksands IF , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 1987/88 season . In his rookie year , he scored nine points in a total of 18 games, including one goal. In the following 17 years, the winger played exclusively for Leksand with the exception of the 1996/97 season, in which he was under contract with HIFK Helsinki from the Finnish SM-liiga . With his team, the 1994 Olympic champion reached in the 2001/02 and 2004/05 seasons each direct return from the HockeyAllsvenskan in Sweden's top division.

Eriksson ended his career in the Italian Serie A , in which he was on the ice for HC Pustertal from 2005 to 2007 .

International

For Sweden , Eriksson took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1987 and 1989 . Furthermore, he was in Sweden's squad for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer .
