Nikola Eklemović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Никола Еклемовић ; in Hungary also Nikola Eklemovics ; born February 8, 1978 in Belgrade ) is a former Serbian-Hungarian handball player . His body length is 193 cm.
Eklemović, who plays for the Romanian club HC Minaur Baia Mare (shirt number 24) and plays for the Hungarian national team (shirt number 23), is mostly used on the center backcourt .
Nikola Eklemović signed his first professional contract with RK Partizan Belgrade . In 1996 he moved to city rivals RK Roter Stern Belgrade , where he was three times champion and one cup winner. In 1999 he was hired for the first time abroad with the Hungarian top team SC Szeged . There he remained largely unsuccessful, but played himself more and more into the field of vision of the series champion KC Veszprém , who also signed him in 2004. With the men from Lake Balaton , he won the Hungarian Championship in 2005, 2006 and 2008 and the Hungarian Cup in 2005 and 2007. In 2008 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Veszprém . On January 12, 2011 Nikola Eklemović signed a three-year contract with Wisła Płock and played in Poland from summer 2011. After the runner-up in 2014, he left the club. He then signed a contract with the Romanian first division club Minaur Baia Mare. With Baia Mare he won the championship in 2015. He then ended his active career and became sporting director at HC Minaur Baia Mare.
Nikola Eklemović has played 14 international matches for the Serbian-Montenegrin national team . With his country of origin he took part in the 2004 European handball championship , but otherwise remained largely unsuccessful. In 2007, Eklemović also took on Hungarian citizenship, so that after the three-year blocking period had expired after a change of nationality at the 2008 European handball championships for Hungary.
