Nikolai Alexandrovich Jemelyanov
Nikolai Alexandrowitsch Jemeljanow ( Russian: Николай Александрович Емельянов ; * December 20, 1871 July / January 1, 1872 greg. In Sestrorezk ; † August 13, 1958 ibid) was a Russian revolutionary .
Life
Jemelyanov became a Bolshevik in 1904 . After the failed July uprising in 1917, he hid Lenin and Zinoviev , who had to flee Petrograd , in his hay barn in Razliv . During the October Revolution he took part in the assault on the Winter Palace , later he fought in the civil war .
In the 1920s he held important administrative posts in the Soviet economy. In 1927 he supported the Left Opposition . In 1932 he was arrested and sentenced to ten years' exile in Kazakhstan. His family was also arrested later. Two of his seven children were shot in 1937. Jemelyanov was released in 1956 after Stalin's death.
