Nikolaos Samaras
Nikolaos Samaras ( Greek Νικόλαος Σαμαράς , born August 5, 1978 in Veria ) is a Greek handball player .
Career
The 1.84 meter tall Samaras played in his home country until the summer of 2000 for Gymnastiki Enosi Verias and then for Panellinios Athens , with whom he won the Greek championship in 2002, 2004 and 2006 and won the cup in 2001 and 2002. In 2006 the right wing player moved to Stralsund HV . His contract with the SHV was extended on December 18, 2007 to June 30, 2010; due to financial problems of the club, however, the contract was dissolved after the end of the 2008/2009 season. He then returned to Greece and has since played for AC Diomidis Argous , with whom he participated several times in the EHF Challenge Cup and the EHF European Cup . In 2012 and 2014 he won the championship again,
Samaras has made at least 60 appearances for the Greek national team. He was part of the national team at the 2005 World Handball Championship in Tunisia . He was also nominated for qualifying for the 2010 European Handball Championship in Austria .
