Nikolas Špalek (born February 12, 1997 in Šaľa ) is a Slovak football player who has been under contract with the Italian first division club Brescia Calcio since January 2018 . He is a former junior national player in his home country.

Career

Špalek, who was born in Šaa, started playing football with local clubs FC Neded and FK Slovan Duslo Šaľa before joining the youth team at FC Nitra in 2011 . There he was pulled up in the fighting team in 2014 and made his debut for them on March 10, 2014 in the 1: 2 home defeat against Slovan Bratislava . For the 2014/15 season he moved to league rivals Spartak Trnava . There he scored his first professional goal in the Europa League qualifier against FC Zurich on August 28, 2014 , when he scored 1: 1 in the 92nd minute. In January 2015 Špalek was transferred to MŠK Žilina , with whom he won the championship title in the 2016/17 season . At Žilina he was used in three seasons in 85 league games in which he scored 18 goals.

On January 22, 2018, Špalek moved to the Italian Serie B for Brescia Calcio . With Brescia he won in the season 2018/19 the league title and reached the ascent to the prime Serie A .
