Nikolas Hill

Nikolas Hill (born March 10, 1972 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer and former political official ( CDU ). He is married and has a daughter.

Life and work

After training at Allianz Versicherungs-AG, he studied law at the University of Hamburg from 1995 to 1999 , with the completion of the first state law examination. He then received a doctorate from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Hamburg and the Chartered Insurance Institute in London as part of a graduate scholarship. jur. PhD. He interrupted his subsequent legal clerkship in October 2001 to work as a policy advisor in the science authority. From October 2002 he continued his legal traineeship and finished it in September 2004 with the second state examination. In December 2004 he was admitted to the bar. From October 2004 to December 2005 Hill was assistant to the deputy NDR manager. From 2006 until his appointment to the State Council, he was Senate Director and Head of the Planning Staff in the Hamburg Senate Chancellery.

From March 15, 2009 Hill was State Councilor of the authority for culture, sport and media (from October 1, 2010 to March 23, 2011 authority for culture and media, since then culture authority ), initially by Karin von Welck (independent), then from August 2010 to March 2011 by Reinhard Stuth (CDU) and since the election of Olaf Scholz as First Mayor of Barbara Kisseler (independent). From February 2014 to April 2015, Hill was State Councilor for the Department of Justice and Equality .

On June 30, 2015, Hill became managing director of the Hamburg application company for the 2024 Olympic Games . After the citizens of Hamburg spoke out against the application at the Olympic referendum on November 29, 2015 , the application company was to be dissolved on December 31, 2015. A parliamentary inquiry in the Hamburg citizenship revealed that Hill was employed for the liquidation of the company from February to the end of November 2016 . From January 2017 to March 2018 he was Managing Director of the consulting company PLOT GmbH in Germany.

In 2018, as a co-founder of the “Hamburger Schulgenossenschaft”, he tried to prevent the closure of several Catholic schools in Hamburg.

Together with Thorsten Kausch and Franziska Hoppermann , he will develop the election program for the 2020 parliamentary elections for the CDU in Hamburg.
