Reinhard Stuth

Reinhard Stuth (born September 26, 1956 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From August 2010 to March 2011 he was the Senator for Culture of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, before that he was Hamburg State Councilor from 2001 to March 2009 .

Career

Stuth studied African studies and law at the University of Hamburg from 1974 to 1979 .

He completed his legal clerkship in Hamburg, Berlin and Heidelberg . After the second state examination in law, he worked from 1983 to 1985 as head of the foreign, security and German policy department in the CDU federal office in Bonn. From 1985 to 1989 he was then the personal advisor to the then Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker .

From 1989 to 1990 he was a guest in the cabinet of Peter Schmidhuber , Commissioner of the European Union , Brussels. From 1990 to 1991 he was deputy head of the foreign affairs department of the Federal Chancellery , Bonn. From 1991 to 1995 he was Head of Division for European Affairs at the Representation of the State of Berlin at the Federal Government in Bonn and Berlin. From 1995 to 1999 he was head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's offices in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in Prague and Bratislava . From 1999 to 2001 he was an advisor for European policy to the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in Berlin.

From 2001 to 2008 Stuth was State Councilor and authorized representative of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to the federal government, the European Union and for foreign affairs. From May 2008 to March 2009 he was State Councilor for the Authority for Culture, Sport and Media in Hamburg. Then there was a surprising retirement in March 2009 by Ole von Beust . He was then on the supervisory board of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg Bau GmbH & Co. KG and chairman of the supervisory board of Hamburg Tourismus GmbH.

From May 2009 to August 2010 he was a managing partner with the founding of Pflüger and Stuth. Internationale Beratung GmbH and was admitted to the bar in July 2009. In 2010 Stuth was on the jury of the art prize of the Christa and Nikolaus Schües Art Foundation (Hamburg).

On August 25, 2010, Stuth was appointed Senator for Culture, Sport and Media (since October 1, 2010 Senator for Culture and Media) of Hamburg in the Senate of Mayor Christoph Ahlhaus (CDU), who was elected on the same day . After the general election in February 2011 , he left the Senate on March 7, 2011.

Stuth is currently the managing partner of “HanBao Internationale Beratung GmbH” and lecturer for trademark and copyright law at the Brand University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg.

He is married to the former CDU member of parliament Bettina Machaczek .
