Nikolaus Aidelsburger (born October 28, 1936 in Deisenhofen ; † June 4, 2012 there ) was a German local politician ( CSU ).

Life

Aidelsburger was born as the son of a pediatrician. In 1933, his father had acquired an agricultural property in the village of Deisenhofen on the outskirts of Munich. In 1958 he passed the Abitur at the private grammar school Ernst Adam and first studied theology and philosophy at the University of Munich , where he also heard the philosopher Romano Guardini . After his father's death, he moved to the Agricultural University in Weihenstephan , where he graduated in 1963 with a degree in agricultural engineering.

He initially worked as an appraiser for the cooperative Bayerische Landwirtschaftsbank . In 1963 he joined the Junge Union . In the municipal elections in 1966 he was elected First Mayor of the municipality of Oberhaching . When he took office, the Hachinger Tal was part of the planned main expansion zone for the state capital Munich. Due to its convenient location at the intersection of two railway lines, the village should grow to become a satellite city with 40,000 to 50,000 inhabitants. Aidelsburger, who wanted to keep the village character, initiated a departure from these plans. For the first time in the Federal Republic of Germany, the municipality commissioned a planning office to present alternatives for village development. As a result, a local building code came into force in 1976, which laid down the smooth transition from the rural character to a moderately growing residential community.

During his tenure, several infrastructural projects were implemented: the municipal waterworks, the elementary school in Deisenhofen, the new town hall on the Kyberg, the Oberhaching grammar school and a wood chip heating plant on the Kyberg.

After 36 years in office, he did not run in the 2002 local elections.
