Nikolaus Amhof

Nikolaus Amhof (born October 19, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ).

life and career

Nikolaus Amhof was born on October 19, 1962 in Vienna and also completed his schooling here. After elementary school, he attended grammar school in Strebersdorf from 1972 to 1980 and began studying law in 1982 , which he continued until 1987. Amhof was friends with Heinz-Christian Strache already in his youth and with him belonged to the Ring Freiheitlicher Jugend Österreich (RFJ). From 1992 to 1996 he was trained as an officer in the Austrian Armed Forces and then went into self-employment . During his time in the armed forces, his political activities increased, including from 1993 to 1994 as chairman of the Ring of Freedom Youth Austria. He was subsequently expelled from the RFJ due to his legal bias.

Amhof was elected district party chairman of the FPÖ Vienna-Alsergrund in 1995 and has been in this position ever since. In 1996 Amhof was elected to the Vienna City Council and Landtag for the first time and was a member of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) in the 16th electoral term . From 2003 to 2015, as a district councilor of the FPÖ, he also took over the district representation for Vienna-Alsergrund and from 2003 to 2015 he was federal manager of the RFJ. In 2006 he also took over the duties of financial officer of the RFJ. With the renewed election to the Vienna City Council and State Parliament in November 2015, Amhof resigned from his function as district representative after more than a decade. Since then he has appeared as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and member of the Vienna City Council for the 20th electoral term .

In 1998 Amhof was seen in Lutz Dammbeck's documentary Das Meisterspiel .

His younger brother Gregor also appears as a local politician and has been the FPÖ District Council on Alsergrund since 1996 and the FPÖ club chairman on Alsergrund since 2001.
