Nicholas Fery

Nikolaus Fery (born November 30, 1919 in Schwalbach (Saar) ; † January 18, 2016 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1965 to 1970 he was a member of the Saarland state parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school in Saarlouis , Fery studied political science and economics at Heidelberg University from 1940 . He interrupted his studies between 1940 and 1945 due to military service and participation in the Second World War . From 1946 to graduation in 1948, he continued at the University of Freiburg . In 1949 he was awarded the dissertation topic attempt a morphological study of the union problem for Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

Fery worked from 1950 to 1952 as a consultant in the social insurance department in the Saarland Ministry of Labor and Welfare. From 1952 to 1970 he was managing director of the mining trade association for Saarland. From 1970 until his retirement in 1984 he was chairman of the board of the Kreissparkasse Saarlouis .

Fery joined the CDU and was honorary mayor of the Schwalbach community from 1956 to 1973. In the state elections in 1965 he was elected as a direct candidate via the Saarlouis constituency in the Saarland state parliament, to which he belonged until 1970.

On December 22nd, 1980 Fery was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit.

Nikolaus Fery lived in Schwalbach. He was married and had two children.
