Nikolaus Kasche

Nikolaus Kasche (born November 16, 1754 in Groß-Glogau in Prussian Silesia, † February 4, 1824 in Vienna ) was an Austrian Cistercian and 59th abbot of the Heiligenkreuz Abbey .

Life

Nikolaus Kasche made his profession on November 22, 1778 and celebrated Primiz on March 27, 1780 . From 1780 to 1782 he was the prior's secretary , from 1788 to 1792 parish administrator of the monastery, from 1791 parish administrator in Trumau and from 1791 to 1806 administrative administrator. After the death of Abbot Marian II, he was administrator of the monastery from 1805 to 1806 and was elected 59th Abbot of Heiligenkreuz and 4th Abbot of St. Gotthard on August 6, 1806 . He was buried on the monastery grounds of Heiligenkreuz; Today his tombstone is placed on the outside of the north wall of the Bernardi Chapel.
