Nikolaus Koch (publisher, 1847)

Nikolaus Koch (born March 31, 1847 in Trier ; † July 23, 1918 there ) was a German publisher and publicist . He is the co-founder of the Trierischer Volksfreund .

After the death of his co-founder Nikolaus Philippi , Koch was the sole owner of the newspaper and printing company. After Koch's early death, his son Nikola (1873–1935) continued his publishing business with the Trierischer Volksfreund.

Koch's legacy said that the Trierian friend of the people should always " keep his mediating position among the denominations , he should fearlessly stand up for truth, law and freedom". These words were remembered especially during the Nazi era .

After cooking is Nikolaus Koch Platz named.

Koch was the grandfather of Nikolaus Koch .
