Nikolaus Kopp

Nikolaus Kopp (born September 6, 1903 in Bildstock , † August 10, 1979 in Marpingen ) was a Saarland politician ( CDU ).

After attending elementary school, Kopp worked in the mining industry from 1917. He worked 31 years underground and eight years in the mine service.

Kopp, who was involved in the Christian trade union movement, was active in the Saarland CDU, which was still illegal at the time, from 1952. After their approval in 1955, he was elected first chairman of the Marpingen local association . He was one of the opponents of a union between the CDU and the Christian People's Party of Saarland .

In June 1957 Kopp was for the late Hans Simon in the state parliament of Saarland move up. There he was deputy chairman of the electoral review committee and a member of the committees for constitutional issues as well as for rules of procedure and immunity. On October 21, 1960, he resigned from the CDU parliamentary group and was a non-attached MP until the end of the legislative period in January 1961 .
