Nikolaus Mathes
Nikolaus Mathes (born March 23, 1845 in Burrweiler ; † December 8, 1921 in Munich ) was a German landscape and genre painter.
Mathes studied from April 25, 1863 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich and privately with Wilhelm von Lindenschmit the Younger .
After completing his studies, he worked as a freelance landscape and genre painter in Munich. He also created an altarpiece for the Church of the Sacrifice of the Virgin in Duggendorf .
Many of his works are in the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen .
