Nikolaus Theiner the Elder Ä. (* around 1535/40 in Lobeda ; † March 26, 1620 in Weimar ) was a stonemason and master builder of the Renaissance and is proven several times in Jena and the surrounding area in the second half of the 16th century . His symbol: ligature from the letters NTL - Nikolaus Theiner Lobedanus.

Nikolaus Theiner the Elder Ä. first appears in documents of the city of Lobeda in 1555 as "defensive". His son Nikolaus Theiner the Younger was born in Lobeda (* date unknown, place: Lobeda; † August 2, 1648 in Weimar). From 1555 he worked as a stonemason and site manager with various residences. Nikolaus Theiner d. Ä. Citizens of the cities of Lobeda, Gera and Weimar. From these places he worked in the Central Thuringia area.
