The Nile River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river has its source on the northern slopes of The Knuckle , a mountain in Ben Lomond National Park , about 47 km east-southeast of Launceston . Immediately after its source it flows through the two small lakes Lake Baker and Lake Youl . From there it flows west and flows into the South Esk River about 4 km south of the settlement of Clarendon . Shortly before, it flows through the Nile settlement .
