Nils Erik Hellsten (born February 19, 1886 in Stockholm ; † April 12, 1962 there ) was a Swedish fencer.

Life

Nils Hellsten was major in the reserve , teacher and deputy head of Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan .

Successes in fencing

At the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris he won a bronze medal in the individual epee fencing competition . He also took part in the Summer Olympics in Antwerp in 1920 and in Amsterdam in 1928 .

For his Swedish fencing club FFF ( Föreningen för fäktkonstens främjande ) he won five Swedish individual championships, three of them in epee (1917, 1918 and 1920) and two in foil fencing (1919 and 1920). With the Swedish national team he took third place in epee fencing at the World Championships in Vienna in 1931 and in Warsaw in 1934 .
