Nils Günther
Nils Günther (born November 19, 1973 in Scherzingen ) is a Swiss composer and pianist .
Life
Nils Günther passed his piano teacher exam at the Swiss Music Education Association (SMPV). From 1989 to 1999 the pianist turned to new improvisational music and musical theater . During this time it came a. on the collaboration with Mani Planzer and Flavio Spirgi . Until 1998 he studied piano with Andre Manz and theory with Cornelius Schwehr , Hans Wüthrich and Mathias Steinauer at the Zurich University of Music and Theater . From 2000 to 2007 he studied composition with Walter Zimmermann , composition and analysis with Hartmut Fladt and electronics with Martin Supper at the Berlin University of the Arts .
Since 2010 he has been teaching music theory and composition at the Fanny Hensel music school in Berlin. As a composer he is guided by the teaching of the phases of change (five elements, Wu Xing). His music is medically therapeutic in the sense that it aims to put the listener in a state of equilibrium. Günther's works were u. a. listed in Europe and Asia. He worked with musicians such as the Ensemble Sortisatio and the Ensemble Modern . He also gave several lectures on John Cage .
