Nina Grundler (born September 26, 1989 ) is a former Nauruan athlete .

life and career

In June 2007 Grundler took part in the Tri-Rigger Championships in Kiribati , a two-nation competition. At the 2008 Oceania Championships , the Nauru woman won the bronze medal (9.66 m) in the shot put with only three participants and reached fourth place in the discus throw (29.39 m). At the Micronesia Championships in 2009 she was able to win the silver medal in the shot put (8.90 m), in the hammer throw the bronze medal with three participants (17.84 m). In September 2010, Grundler defended her bronze medal in the shot put (9.59 m) at the Oceania Championships and was fifth in the discus throw (28.41 m). In the following year, the continental championships were divided into two regional divisions for the first time, so that the Nauru woman was the only participant to become Oceania champion in the discus throw (29.01 m) and in the shot put among three participants, she was able to win the silver medal (10.08 m). At the Pacific Games 2011 in Nouméa she was eliminated from the competition after three invalid attempts, while Angelina Grundler (* 1966) took eighth place. The Oceania Championships 2014 ended for Grundler without a podium placement in the shot put (fifth place with 10.87 m) and discus throw (sixth place with 28.62 m). However, she was able to build on earlier successes at the Micronesia Games in the same year by winning a silver medal in the shot put (10.42 m) just behind the winner Lucinda Kamloy and a bronze medal in the discus throw (25.81 m).

Grundler comes from the Eamwitmwit and has been the mother of a daughter since July 2015.
