Career

Nina Tipotsch won the giant slalom at the Trofeo Topolino in 2003 . In December of the same year she competed in her first FIS race . It took some time before she reached the top positions in the FIS races. Only in the 2006/07 season did she consistently make it into the top ten. In February 2007 she won the silver medal in the Super-G at the Austrian Junior Championships in the Youth II age group. Two years earlier, she had already been third in the Youth I age group. From the 2007/08 season Tipotsch was regularly at the start in the European Cup . She won her first European Cup points on January 16, 2008 with tenth place in the downhill from Caspoggio . Two weeks later, however, the season was over for her: She fell in the European Cup descent from Tarvisio and suffered a fracture of the Elle . The next season also ended prematurely for Tipotsch. On January 8th, 2009, she fell in the FIS-Super-G in Spital am Pyhrn and suffered a torn cruciate ligament and meniscus as well as an inner ligament tear in her knee.

After four years in the youth team of the ÖSV, Tipotsch was accepted into the B-team in 2009. She started the World Cup for the first time in the Super-G in Cortina d'Ampezzo on January 20, 2010 , but remained without points just like her second and so far last World Cup start in the downhill from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee on January 8, 2011. In the European Cup she achieved her best result so far on February 19, 2010 with second place in the Super-G in Formigal . With a further two top 10 placements, she took eighth place in the Super-G classification in the 2009/10 season . In the next winter Tipotsch stayed without a European Cup podium, but was four times in the top ten, but in the 2011/12 season she did not score any points in the European Cup. In spring 2012 she was released from the ÖSV squad.
