The Nindorfer Höhenzug is an elevation in the Hohen Geest Mittelholstein in the north of the Aukrug Nature Park, roughly along the K84 county road between Hohenwestedt and Heinkenborstel .

The ridge lies in the border area of ​​the communities of Nindorf (north), Rade b. Hohenwestedt (south), Tappendorf (west) and Mörel (Holstein) (east) and reaches a height of 84 m above sea level. NN. The ridge is both wooded and covered by agricultural arable land. It represents the watershed of the parts of Central Holstein that originally ran north to the Eider , today to the Kiel Canal , and the parts of Mittelholstein that drained south to the Stör . If it were only about the scenic attractions, then the slope of the Nindorf ridge belongs in the direction Buckener Au with one of the highlights of the Hohe Geest Mittelholstein.

Specialty

Stone Age urn graves , several megalithic graves and a sacrificial stone indicate an early settlement of the ridge. In the forest area there is still a private cemetery belonging to the Ludendorfer ( Federation for German God Knowledge ), who are rated by the protection of the constitution as right-wing extremists. The Kyffhäuserbund Nindorf maintains a festival site in the forest area, where the traditional forest festival takes place every year at Whitsun.
