Ninoslav Marina (born September 25, 1974 in Skopje ) is Rector of the University of Information Science and Technology in Ohrid , North Macedonia .

biography

After studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Skopje , Ninoslav Marina received his doctorate in 2004 from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) with a partnership with the Nokia Research Center in Helsinki. His dissertation dealt with information theory with application in wireless communication. Ninoslav Marina was the director of the development department at Sowoon Technologies from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 to 2008 he was visiting scholar at the University of Manoa in Hawaii . Then, from 2008 to 2009, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oslo . Between 2010 and 2012, Ninoslav Marina was a PhD research postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University . He still holds a postdoctoral position at Princeton.

Marina has been a visiting professor at 20 universities, including the United States , Japan , England , Israel , Russia , Brazil , Hong Kong , Norway , Finland , Portugal and the Czech Republic .

He has experience in fundraising (sponsorship money), which includes programs from Swiss CTI, Swiss NSF, the European Commission and the European Space Agency. He is a reviewer in the sixth and seventh research framework programs of the European Commission. Marina is a senior member of the IEEE and a co-founder of the Macedonian Section of the IEEE Information Theory Society.
