Nir Baram
Nir Baram (born June 2, 1976 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli author and journalist .
Life
Baram comes from a family of Israeli Avoda politicians of Ukrainian, Egyptian and Lebanese origins. His grandfather Moshe Bar'am was a minister in several cabinets in the country, as was his father Uzi Bar'am , who was most recently tourism minister.
Nir Baram graduated from Hebrew University High School in Jerusalem in 1994 before entering the 3-year military service. He studied Hebrew Literature at Tel Aviv University . Then he was an editor at the Am Oved publishing house . Since 2006 he has written several novels, which have also been translated into some European languages. He writes for the Israeli daily Haaretz and other publications.
In 2006 Baram and other poets and authors from his homeland campaigned for a ceasefire in the Lebanon war of the same year.
