Nissim Zvili

Nissim Zvili , ( Hebrew נסים זווילי, Born January 31, 1942 in Tunisia ) is an Israeli politician .

life and career

Zvili was born in Tunisia in 1942. He came to Israel in the 1950s . He attended an Agricultural High School in Nahalat Yehuda . Later he visited the Bar-Ilan University , and the universities in Oxford and Cambridge .

His political career began in the 1980s when he was elected Secretary General of the Moshav Movement .

In 1992, Zvili was elected to the Knesset for Avoda . In 1996 he was re-elected. Shortly after his entry into parliament, Zvili was elected Secretary General of Avoda in October 1992. He held this office until January 1998. In 1999 he left Avoda and became one of the founding members of Mifleget ha-Merkas . He did not run for the Knesset elections later that year.

From 2002 to 2005 Zvili served as the Israeli ambassador to France .
