Ulrich von Lenzburg or Ulrich Ribi (* before 1325; † March 25, 1355 in Sargans ) was bishop of Chur from 1331 to 1355 .

Life

Ulrich, an Augustinian hermit , is mentioned for the first time in 1325 as prior and lecturer of theology in Mainz . He was the confessor of Archbishop Matthias von Buchegg of Mainz until 1328 , after which he became papal penitentiary . Ulrich stood in the dispute over rule in the empire on the side of the opponents of Ludwig of Bavaria . He became Bishop of Chur in 1331. The Synod of Speyer, which tried to mediate in the conflict between Emperor Ludwig IV and the Pope, sent him to Pope Benedict XII in 1338 . to Avignon . In the battles for the County of Tyrol between the Wittelsbachers , Luxemburgers and Habsburgs , he was an ally of the Bohemian King Charles IV. In 1347 he was captured by Ludwig the Brandenburger , who occupied the property of the Chur monastery in Tyrol.
