The Nivea for Men Irish Open 2001 took place from May 22nd to 27th, 2001 in Dublin , Ireland . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2000/01 and belonged to the PSA 5 Star rating category . The total prize pool was $ 52,500.

Defending champion Peter Nicol won the tournament again. In the final, he prevailed against David Palmer with 15:11, 15: 5 and 15: 9.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, including four qualifiers. Per Wildcard got Derek Ryan a spot in the main draw.
