The Niwen is a 2,769 meter high mountain in the Valais Alps near Goppenstein in the canton of Valais .
Lötschental Tourismus estimates the ascent time from Ferden via Faldumalp to around 4 hours 30 minutes, from Goppenstein, also via Faldumalp, to around 5 hours. From the top of the Niwen there are views of the Valais Rhone Valley and the Lötschental .
