Node is an Italian technical death metal band that was formed in 1994 in Milan , Lombardy .

history

The band was formed in 1994 by guitarist Steve Minelli. In March of the same year he published the first demo called Grind Revolution in Mass Evolution with other members not mentioned further . In September 1995 singer and guitarist Gary D'Eramo, bassist Klaus Mariani and drummer John Manti joined Steve Minelli. The new line-up recorded the EP Ask in December 1995 and released it in 1996 on the Italian label Lucretia Records .

This was followed by a few concerts and the band supported Death on their tour through Italy , among others . Meanwhile the band was working on new material, and the line-up should change again. Drummer John Manti left the band in April 1996 and was replaced by Oinos (ex- sadist ), who only stayed until December of the same year. Gary D'Eramo left the band in March 1997 due to musical differences with the rest of the band. Daniel Botti (ex- Gory Blister ) became the band's new singer and guitarist. With the changed line-up, the band signed another contract with Lucretia Records for the release of further sound carriers and released their debut album Technical Crime in 1997 .

In June founding member Steve Minelli also left the band. In 2000 Joe La Viola (Gory Blister) joined the band as the new drummer and recorded the demo Land of Node with the band in June 2000 , which brought them to a contract with Scarlet Records .

In August 2001 it was planned to record the second album in the Underground Studios in Västerås , Sweden . The line-up at that time was: Daniel Botti (vocals, electric guitar), Gary D'Eramo (vocals, electric guitar), Klaus Mariani (electric bass) and Mario Giannini (drums). The second album called Sweatshops was released in February 2002 via Scarlet Records . Drummer Mario Giannini left the band in 2002 for personal reasons. Marco Di Salvia joined the band as the new drummer in September 2002.

In March 2003 the band played a few concerts in Italy, including with Anthrax . In August of the same year, the band recorded the next album called Das Kapital . The album was produced again by Pelle Saether and Lars Linden in the Underground Studios. This was followed by a tour with Lacuna Coil in March and April 2004. They also performed with Fear Factory in Turin . In autumn 2004 a small tour followed together with Withering Surface and Hatesphere . In early 2005, Node separated from Scarlet Records and re-entered Underground Studios without the support of a label to record the next studio album. As God Kills was again produced by Pelle Saether, mastered by Goran Finnberg and released on May 20, 2006 on the German label Massacre Records . In September and October 2006 a tour of Europe followed to once again support Lacuna Coil and the Finnish band Poisoblack .

In November 2008 Daniele Botti separated from the band and was replaced by singer Beppe "Rex" Caruso and guitarist Andrea "Attila" Caniato. In July 2009 the band entered the Syncropain Studios in Pisa to record the next album. It was produced by Marco Ribecai . Before the first recordings, bassist Klaus Mariani left the band for personal reasons. Marco Rebecai took his place briefly. A short time later he was replaced by Gabriel Pignata. In October 2009 the band signed a contract with Scarlet Records . The album In the End Everything Is a Gag was released in 2010.

style

Compared to other technical death metal bands, the pieces by Node are not quite as technically demanding, in return, more melodic elements are processed in the works.
