The Nollenhorn ( 3185 m above sea level ) is a summit in the ridge east of the Mattmarksee in the Valais Alps . It forms the foremost peak of the side ridge that branches off the main ridge to the northwest at the Jazzihorn . The Stellihorn ( 3436 m above sea level ) is located in the same ridge south of the Nollenhorn . From Stelli , the northern pre-summit of Stellihorns that Noll Horn is by the Stellipass ( 3038 m above sea level. M. separated). Along the ridge south of the Stellipass, there are, in addition to the actual summit of the Nollenhorn, other secondary peaks, of which P.3148 are located south and P.3151 and P.3098 are north of the main peak. To the west of the ridge is the Furggtälli , whose valley head is the Antronapass . The Nollenhorn is not glaciated.
Climbs
The easiest way to get to the Nollenhorn is from Mattmarksee. There are various easy routes, these are mostly pathless. In addition to the more or less direct ascent from the Mattmarksee dam, there is another route that bypasses the lower, steep part of the western slope of the Nollenhorn. First you follow the road along the east bank of the lake in a southerly direction and leave the lake bank on the steep path leading into the Ofental. From this one branches off to the north at an altitude of about 2380 meters and traverses the western flank of the mountain, slightly ascending on trails, until after about 700 meters the slope can be climbed on a grass ridge in a westerly direction. In the Wysstal the terrain becomes flatter again, you keep to the northeast and reach the upper Rottal . There are several ways to reach the notch between Nollenhorn and the southern pre-summit (P.3148). Finally you reach the summit of the Nollenhorn via the south ridge.
