Nomada flava is a bee from the family of Apidae . Some individuals lookvery similar to Nomada signata . The males also resemble Nomada panzeri .
features
The bees have a body length of 10 to 14 (females) or 8 to 12 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and marked in red. The basal tergites are more or less black, the disc of the first is red, those of the second to fifth are yellow, only rarely are other tergites on the disc red. The rear edges are red. The labrum is red and has a small tooth. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The scutellum is spotted red or black. The thighs ( femora ) of the middle legs have the same length of hair below as above. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs have several pointed, small thorns at the end. The head and thorax of the males are black and have yellow markings. The tergites are basal black, the disc of the first is red, the second to the sixth yellow. The rear edges are red. The labrum is yellow. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The slightly humped label is red. The thighs ( femora ) of the middle legs have hair of the same length above and below. On the rear rails there are pale, inconspicuous small thorns at the end.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in Central and Northern Europe. The animals fly from mid-March to mid-June. The species parasitizes in the nests of Andrena carantonica , Andrena nitida and probably Andrena nigroaenea as well .
