Nomada signata is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species is very similar to Nomada flava , the males also resemble Nomada panzeri .

features

The bees have a body length of 10 to 13 (females) or 8 to 12 millimeters (males). The head of the female is black and is drawn in red. The thorax is also black, but drawn in red and yellow. The tergites are black at the base and yellow on the disc. Their end edges are red, but they appear dark due to the black base. The labrum is red and has a tooth. The third antenna segment is significantly shorter than the fourth. The weakly humped scutellum is red. The rails ( tibiae ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have several long horns. The males are similar to the females, but have a yellow face. The label is black or has two red spots. It has weak bumps. The thighs ( femora ) of the middle legs are hairy significantly longer than the thighs of the hind legs. The rear rails are bluntly ended and have fine, long thorns.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in Central and Northern Europe. The animals fly in from mid-March to late June. They parasitize Andrena fulva .
