Nomada flavopicta is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species looksvery similar to Nomada emarginata .
features
The bees are 8 to 11 millimeters long. The head of the female is black and has reddish markings. The thorax and abdomen are black with yellow spots. The labrum is reddish and has strong teeth. The third antenna segment is the same length as the fourth. The sixth to twelfth antennae are dark below. The broad pronotum is only slightly cut out. The scutellum has two yellow spots. The hips ( coxes ) of the front legs have a thin thorn at the end. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are rounded at the end and are not thorny and hairless. The males look similar to the females, but their faces are drawn in yellow.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is distributed throughout Europe. The animals fly from early May to early October. The species parasitizes Melitta leporina , Melitta haemorrhoidalis , Melitta nigricans and Melitta tricincta .
