The Nomos Center (also: Center "Nomos" to promote the study of geopolitical issues and Euro-Atlantic Cooperation Black Sea region , Russian Центр содействия изучению геополитических проблем и евроатлантического сотрудничества Черноморского региона "Номос" ) was a non-profit and independent Ukrainian non-governmental organization and Think tank .

history

The Nomos Center was founded in November 2003 as a "think tank" with the aim of helping to shape programs and projects for political and strategic analysis in the field of security and to participate in scientific research. The center also provided information on the processes of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The project should serve Ukrainian and foreign elites as an instrument of intellectual integration, for dialogue and discussion between experts and politicians about the status and perspectives of the Black Sea , Caspian and Baltic Sea regions .

Closed in April 2014 after the Russian occupation of Crimea .

The center developed forecasts and recommendations for policy makers, government agencies and academic institutions. It also held conferences, seminars or round tables.

From 2006 to 2014 one of the leading NGO Task Forces for Economic Security Network Ukraine-NATO partnership under the auspices of the Joint High-Level Group on Defense Reform (JWGDR).

The Nomos Center worked within a partner network with international institutions. "Nomoses" partners were independent analytical centers in Ukraine , Russia , the countries of the South Caucasus , the European Union and the USA . The Nomos Center worked together with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the International Renaissance Foundation .

It also published a magazine “Black Sea Security” ( Russian “Черноморская безопасность” ) .
