Chemical properties

Chemically, nonivamide differs from capsaicin in that it lacks a double bond and a methyl group in the side chain.

Nonivamide acts as an analgesic and stimulates blood flow and is therefore used for rheumatic muscle, joint and nerve pain .

Pseudocapsaicin is also used as an active ingredient in pepper spray or in pepper gas cartridges for alarm guns .

pharmacology

Nonivamide is a synthetic capsaicin analog with analgesic properties, which leads to a reduction in substance P in the peripheral pain-sensitive C fibers and Aδ nerve fibers when repeatedly applied to the skin.
