Norðoyri
Norðoyri [ ˈnoːɹɔiɹɪ ] ( Danish spelling : Nordøre ) is a place in the Faroe Islands on the island of Borðoy , which belongs to the region of the North Islands .

Norðoyri is located south of the town of Klaksvík on the east bank of the Borðoyarvík fjord .
Excavations could prove a settlement of the place as early as the Viking Age . On March 12, 1745 , a homestead here was destroyed by an avalanche accident . Exactly 20 years later to the day, the same fate happened to this farm again. Its ruins can still be seen today.
