Nora Bendzko

Nora Bendzko (* 1994 in Munich ) is a German writer , singer and editor .

life and work

Nora Bendzko was born in Munich and is studying German Philology at the University of Vienna . Since the age of 12 she took singing lessons in jazz , rhythm and soul and classical singing with different singing teachers, u. a. with Annette Neuffer and Franz Garlik .

From 2015 she was the singer of the metal band Avem, in December 2019 she announced her departure from the band. She is still active in the power metal band Nightmarcher.

As a writer, she mainly devotes herself to pitch-black stories and the gloomy adaptations of classic fairy tales. Her self- published series of novels Galgenmärchen was nominated for the Seraph Fantastic Literature Prize in 2018 and 2019 , each in the category of Best Independent Title . Her first novel will be published by Verlag Droemer Knaur in 2020 . She has also published several short stories in anthologies.

Nora Bendzko works as an editor and translator , e. B. for Dead Soft Verlag and Hawkify Books. She is also a member of the Nornennetz , an association of German fantastic authors .
