Noradenberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Noradenberg is a deserted settlement north of Suffersheim , a district of the Middle Franconian town of Weißenburg in Bavaria in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district, which fell in the 13th century .

The settlement was located above the Laubental and the Heuberger Tal , south of the Weißenburger Stadtwald in the area of today's Suffersheim. It is the predecessor settlement of Heuberg , which is now further north . This is indicated by today's field name Altenheuberg , around 530  m above sea level. NN high elevation of the Weißenburger Alb .

Noradenberg means north mountain and is to be understood as the opposite of Sonderberg to the south , which means south mountain . The place was a hamlet with nine estates. The original street green settlement was recognizable from the parcels up to the land consolidation (completion 1996). The place originated around 1200 and was first mentioned in a document in 1214. It belonged to the Marshals von Pappenheim . The Heuberg clearing settlement was founded by the Pappenheimers as the successor to Noradenberg between 1270 and 1300.
