Norbert Baunach

Norbert Baunach (born October 11, 1950 in Rostock ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from 1994 to 2011 .

Life and work

Baunach graduated from the Polytechnic High School and the Extended High School in Rostock. This was followed by an apprenticeship as an engine builder . In 1969 he made up his Abitur and the skilled worker qualification in Rostock. From 1969 to 1971 he did his basic military service with the NVA . He then studied from 1971 to 1975 at the University of Rostock and then worked as a graduate teacher in his hometown until 1991 . He is unmarried and has two daughters.

After Baunach was non-party until 1989, he joined the SPD . Within the SPD, he was a member of the SPD party executive in Rostock from 1990 to 1991 and from 1991 to 1994 regional manager of the SPD.

From October 1994 until the end of the 5th legislative period in 2011 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . There he was deputy chairman of the building committee from 1994 to 1998 and its chairman from 1998 to 2006. He was also spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for urban planning / urban development and sport.

He is a member of the Presidium of the Rostock City Sports Association and the State Sports Association . He is also President of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Boxing Association and a member of the “Boxing Talent MV” sponsorship group as well as a member of the supervisory board of HC Empor Rostock .
