Norbert Bensel

Norbert Bensel (born December 14, 1947 in Steinau an der Strasse ) was a member of the board of DB Mobility Logistics AG until May 31, 2009 .

Career

After completing his professional training, Bensel studied chemistry from 1968 and obtained his doctorate in 1977 in Berlin. rer. nat.

From 1977 to 1987 he worked at Schering AG in Berlin , most recently as Head of Central Training and Development / Personnel Development. From 1987 he was head of human resources and social affairs at R + V Versicherung in Wiesbaden . In 1992 he moved to Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG in Munich, where he acted as head of the HR development / management support department.

From July 1, 1996 to May 2003, Norbert Bensel was a member of the Board of Management of Daimler-Benz InterServices (debis) AG. From November 17, 1998 to May 2003, he was responsible for the DaimlerChrysler Services Human Resources department (Labor Director) and for the (debis) AG Real Estate Management division in Berlin and as a member of the management of debis Systemhaus GmbH for human resources. In December 1998, Norbert Bensel was also elected to the board of trustees of the University of Applied Sciences for Technology and Economics Berlin (FHTW), which was supposed to advance the modernization of the FHTW, which included in particular budgetary and economic management according to business aspects and strategic development planning.

From January 1, 2002, Norbert Bensel was Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director at Deutsche Bahn AG . At the beginning of 2005 he became board member responsible for transport and logistics at DB AG. From 2008 to May 31, 2009, Norbert Bensel was a member of the Management Board of DB Mobility Logistics AG, responsible for the DB Schenker business unit, from which he was dismissed following the data affair . In the course of the early termination of his employment contract, he received a severance payment of 3.36 million euros , including pecuniary benefits . Karl-Friedrich Rausch was appointed as his successor .

Bensel belonged to the 15-member "Commission for Modern Services on the Labor Market" ( Hartz Commission ), which was set up on February 22, 2002.

Since October 2009 he has been a member of the supervisory board of the management consultancy TransCare. He is also the founding rector of the University of International Economics and Logistics .
