Karl-Friedrich Rausch

Karl-Friedrich Rausch (born July 19, 1951 in Laubach , Hesse ) is a German industrial engineer. From June 1, 2009 to July 2015, he was Board Member for Transport and Logistics at DB Mobility Logistics AG .

Life

Rausch studied industrial engineering from 1973 to 1980 at the Technical University of Darmstadt . From 1980 until his doctorate in 1985 he was employed there as a research assistant.

He worked for the Lufthansa Group from 1985 to 2000 . During this time, he was management spokesman for Lufthansa CityLine from 1994 to 1997 . From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the executive board of Lufthansa Passenger Airline, most recently as spokesman for the executive board.

At times he was traded as the successor to Jürgen Weber in the function of Lufthansa CEO. At the beginning of 2001, Wolfgang Mayrhuber was to take over passenger traffic on the Lufthansa Executive Board. Rausch was supposed to become the authorized representative of the Lufthansa board for the infrastructure group . This was seen by observers as the disempowerment of intoxication. His switch to rail was therefore hardly surprising.

On January 1, 2001, he moved to Deutsche Bahn AG as Chief Technology Officer . From May 20, 2003, he was responsible for the passenger transport division as a member of the board.

His contract was extended for another five years at the beginning of 2005.

In preparation for the partial capital privatization, the DB Group outsourced all mobility and logistics activities in 2008 to a wholly owned subsidiary, DB Mobility Logistics AG. Rausch moved to the company's board of directors, where he was responsible for the passenger transport department.

On June 1, 2009, he was appointed to the board of directors for transport and logistics at the same company.

In 2015, Rausch went into early retirement.

Rausch is a member of the University Council of the TU Darmstadt.
