Norbert Gutenberg

Norbert Gutenberg (born February 15, 1951 ) is a German speech scientist .

Life

After completing his studies in speech science and speech training at the University of Saarbrücken , Gutenberg passed an examination to become a speech educator ( DGSS ) in 1973 . At the same time he studies German language and literature as well as theater and educational science in Saarbrücken, Erlangen and the Free University of Berlin and graduated in 1976 with a Magister Artium . After receiving his doctorate in 1980, he became head of the Speech Science department at Saarland University in 1981. In 1992, his Habilitation with the Venia 'Speech Science and Speech Training' at the University of Halle and 1996 Habilitation at the University of Saarland, where he was appointed associate professor in the 1999th

Gutenberg was responsible for the master’s focus on speech science and speech training within the master’s degree in German studies and speech training for candidate teachers at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken. He has been retired since 2016 and leads two further education courses on a fee basis, a master's degree in speech science and speech training and a master's in corporate communication and rhetoric.

Focus

For many years he has been researching teachers' voices and their stress and developing concepts to integrate speech training into teacher training, with a prophylactic voice exercise program being offered for teachers.

Gutenberg also deals with the intelligibility of radio news and trains radio and television journalists.

Theoretically, he works on the philosophical foundations of speech science, rhetorical and aesthetic communication.
