Norbert Höslinger

Norbert Wolfgang Höslinger CanReg (born December 25, 1930 in Vienna , † April 1, 2011 in Klosterneuburg ) was an Augustinian canon and Austrian theologian. He was director of the Austrian Catholic Bible Works (ÖKB).

Life

Höslinger, older brother of the music journalist Clemens Höslinger , joined the congregation of the Augustinian Canons in Klosterneuburg Abbey after graduating from high school in 1948 . In 1954 he was ordained a priest in the Klosterneuburg collegiate church. From 1954 to 1965 he worked as a chaplain in Floridsdorf , later in Klosterneuburg. From 1968 to 1975 he was pastor of the parish of St. Martin in Klosterneuburg.

In 1957 he was appointed head of the “Folk Liturgical Apostolate” (later Pius Parsch Institute). He also became editor of the magazine "Bibel und Liturgie". In 1957 he also took over the leadership of the "Klosterneuburg Bible Apostolate". After the foundation of the Austrian Catholic Bible Works in 1966 by Franz Cardinal König , he became its director. In 1999 he retired. From 2001 to 2004 he was pastor of the parish in the 19th district of Heiligenstadt in Vienna .

He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Austrian Hospice in Jerusalem. He died in Klosterneuburg Abbey after a long coma.
