Norbert Königshofen (born January 25, 1943 in Essen ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Alfred Krupp School in Essen in 1964, Königshofen completed a commercial internship at Karstadt AG in Essen. He then began studying business administration, economics, business law, business education , economic history and political science at the University of Cologne , which he completed in 1969 as a commercial teacher . After his legal clerkship , he passed the second state examination for higher education in 1971 and has been the head of the study seminar for secondary education in Gelsenkirchen since 1974 , and since 1978 as director of studies. When he moved to the German Bundestag, he retired there in 1994 as Director of Studies a. D. off.

Norbert Königshofen has been married since 1969 and has one son.

Political party

Königshofen joined the CDU as a student in 1961. He was initially involved in the Junge Union and was chairman of the JU district association in Essen from 1966 to 1968.

In 1975 Königshofen was elected deputy chairman and in 1983 finally chairman of the CDU district association in Essen. Since 2003 he has been honorary chairman of the district association. From 1986 to 2006 he was also deputy chairman of the CDU district association Ruhr.

MP

Königshofen was a member of the Essen City Council from 1975 to 1994 and was chairman of the CDU council group there.

From 1994 to 2009 he was a member of the German Bundestag . Here he belonged to the budget committee, the transport committee and the council of elders and was also deputy chairman of the North Rhine-Westphalia regional group in the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . Norbert Königshofen has always entered the Bundestag via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia . For reasons of age, he did not run for the 2009 Bundestag election.

In June 2007 the Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into breach of trust against Königshofen. The parliamentary immunity of Königshof for the proceedings was lifted by the Bundestag. Königshofen was accused of having participated in several costly events by members of the supervisory board of the Essen municipal utilities in 2005. Königshofen described the invitations as common in many companies . The preliminary investigation was finally closed in accordance with Section 153 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
