Norbert Kailer

Norbert Kailer (* 1955 ) is an Austrian economist and university professor. He is professor for business start-ups and business development at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz . He heads the Institute for Business Creation and Business Development.

Life

Norbert Kailer studied business administration and business education at the University of Graz and the Vienna University of Economics and Business . From 1980 to 1983 he was head of the Austrian Academy for Executives and at the Institute for Organizational Development in Graz. In 1981 he received his doctorate from the University of Graz. From 1983 to 1994 he was a research assistant and department head at the Institute for Economic Research in Vienna; He also completed research stays at the Management School of the University of Lancaster in Great Britain. He completed his habilitation in business administration at the University of Graz. After part-time research at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training in Berlin and at the vocational training centers of the Bavarian employers' associations in Nuremberg , he was Professor of Personnel and Qualification at the Institute for Ergonomics and Head of the Research Center for Personnel Development at the Ruhr University Bochum from 1994 to 2003 . Since 2003 he has been director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Business Development (IUG) at the KU. In 2008 he completed the EECPCL program at Harvard Business School as a Participating Professor .
