Norbert Nedopil

Norbert Nedopil (born September 26, 1947 in Eutin ) is a German psychiatrist .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1968, Norbert Nedopil studied medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After receiving his doctorate in 1975, he was licensed to practice medicine in 1976 . This was followed by further training as a specialist in psychiatry until 1986 . In 1988 he completed his habilitation; his main research interests were psychopharmacology , schizophrenia research and sleep research .

From 1989 to 1992 Nedopil headed the newly established department for forensic psychiatry at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . From 1992 to September 2016 he headed the Forensic Psychiatry Department at the Psychiatric Clinic and Polyclinic of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. Nedopil is the author of many specialist books, forensic experts and deals with the quality of psychiatric reports , with relapse prognoses , the causes of aggression as well as with ethical and legal questions within forensic psychiatry. He prepared reports and a. about Martin Ney , Volker Eckert , Gustl Mollath and Beate Zschäpe .
