Norbert Sauer (born December 16, 1949 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Sauer moved in 1970 from SSV 1921 Mülheim-Kärlich to 1. FC Saarbrücken . He celebrated his greatest sporting successes with Saarbrücken, and in the 1975/76 season he made promotion to the Bundesliga with his teammates . After two years as number two in goal behind Dieter Ferner and eight games in the upper house of German football, he went back to the 2nd Bundesliga with the FCS. After a year he moved to league rivals VfR Bürstadt and played in the 2nd Bundesliga for two more years.
